Governance

Since 1939, AOPA has been committed to serving our members, and our members have placed their trust in us. All of us at AOPA value that trust and realize that we must earn it every day by providing you, our members, with the representation, information, tools, and services you need to get the most out of your flying.

Part of earning and nurturing that trust is ensuring our operations meet the highest standards for quality, professionalism, and responsibility. That’s why we’ve assembled a team of highly experienced pilots and professionals to lead our organization, and it’s why we’ve created this governance section of our Web site.

Here you can meet the members of our Board of Trustees—all pilots and aircraft owners who are committed preserving our freedom to fly and ensuring that AOPA maintains its leadership role on behalf of our members and GA. Each of these knowledgeable and successful individuals donates his or her time and expertise to serve on AOPA’s board without compensation.

This section also includes biographies of the members of our executive management team, tax forms and other financial documents, the charter for AOPA, and lists of governing committee members.

We hope you will find this information useful. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have. The experts in our Pilot Information Center can be reached at or 800/USA-AOPA.

Thank you for placing your trust in us and making AOPA your aviation association.
