Blackshape presents Veloce, Gabriél at AirVenture

Its lines reminiscent of a fighter jet, the 916iS is a two-seat tandem aircraft. Equipped with a Rotax 915 iS engine it delivers max cruise speeds of over 180 knots. The airframe parachute system by BRS Aerospace is standard. Also on display is a mock-up of the new CMD19TC Evo engine, made by Italian manufacturer CMD Costruzioni Motori Diesel. It can be ordered as an option for customers who would want a 200-horsepower takeoff speed and 170-horsepower continuous output.

The FAA-certified Gabriél also comes in a tandem seat configuration. Depending on the customer’s inclination it’s powered by the Lycoming IO-320 or Rotax 916 iS, it can feature Garmin or Dynon avionics, and its interior can be customized to fit owner preferences.

BravoFox emphasizes that all Blackshape experimental aircraft are striving to comply with the Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification rule, which offers a lower-cost certification path under FAR Part 22.
