Cessna Citation CJ2 owners and operators will soon be able to update their flight decks with a full suite of Garmin products, Garmin announced March 19.

The supplemental type certificate will enable the light jet’s legacy avionics to be retrofitted with a package that includes two Garmin touch-screen TXi flight displays, GTN Xi navigators, and a GFC 600 autopilot.

The GTN Xi navigators will enable coupled descent vertical navigation in combination with the autopilot, allowing pilots to create and execute holding patterns over a published or user-defined waypoint, among other improvements.

The autopilot enables pilots to fly coupled VNAV descents and coupled go-around capability while executing a missed approach. In the event of a loss of cabin pressurization, the autopilot’s Emergency Descent Mode can automatically descend the aircraft to a preset altitude without pilot intervention to help avert hypoxic situations.

Options include Garmin’s GMA audio panel to add Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and the GTX 345R transponder to provide both ADS-B Out and ADS-B In weather and traffic alerts.

Garmin’s CJ2 upgrade package was one of several new products unveiled at the Aircraft Electronics Association’s annual conference in Dallas.

Garmin expects to ship the upgrade package in the second quarter of 2024. Prices are still being determined. A similar upgrade STC is planned for the Cessna Citation CJ1.
