Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York are the go-to classics for stunning scenery, but you can catch a glimpse of the red, yellow, and orange leaves across the U.S. In many places, October is often the peak leaf peeping month, so make sure to plan accordingly.

CATCH A GAME: The beauty of having an airplane is the ability to get to your destination in half the time. Forget another weekend on the couch—sport your team’s colors and spend some time cheering next to thousands of your closest friends. Even if you’re just “doing it for the gram” or were dragged to the orchard by your significant other, apple picking is a quintessential fall time activity. Plus, you can always make some delicious apple pie with your loot.

RENT A CABIN: Plan a get together with your family and friends and enjoy a weekend getaway! There’s no better time to cozy up in a cabin than when the weather gets cooler and the leaves change color.

PICK UP A NEW HOBBY: Channel your inner Martha Stewart (minus the prison stint) and pick up some new hobbies—crafting, baking, or home renovation. Fall is the perfect time to get in tune with some new skills.
