Byrd’s Adventure Center

Disconnect and reconnect

Located along Arkansas’s Mulberry River in the Ozarks, Byrd’s Adventure Center invites pilots to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature via swimming, hiking, canoeing, and more.

This beautiful backcountry playground has one longer main strip, a shorter strictly one-way strip near the restaurant, and countless others—literally, the owners are constantly christening new ones—for the local pilots to enjoy and at times, compete on via timed landing trials. Visitors can fly in for lunch on a weekend when the restaurant’s open, or stay a while and camp under their wing, at camping sites near the river (with a shower house nearby), or book a cabin. RV hookups are also available, and beyond flying, Byrd’s also hosts music festivals on occasion. Owners Pam (née Byrd) and Zen Boulden delight in sharing their slice of heaven with the world and particularly the local aviation community. Don’t forget to spoil their adorable dog Nala with affection when you visit.
