Question of the Week
Question

One of my flight students is a retired military and airline pilot with an airline transport pilot multiengine land certificate who wants to fly privately but has no single-engine land ratings. Is it easier to add a single-engine land rating to the pilot's ATP certificate or do a private pilot checkride?
Answer
Check the additional rating/task tables in Appendix 5 of the ATP and private pilot airman certification standards. It might also be a good idea to discuss this situation with the designated pilot examiner who will administer the practical test. Join the discussion >
