Final Exam
Question

What is the "minimum safe airspeed for any particular operation" according to FAR 91.117(d)? If my aircraft's minimum clean speed is 220 KIAS, would I be authorized to fly 220 KIAS below Class B airspace, or must I keep flaps out and fly at 200 KIAS?
Answer
According to this FAA letter of interpretation, unless air traffic control says otherwise, if you can configure the aircraft to be safely flown at or below 200 KIAS in that airspace, you must do so. Join the discussion >
