The health and welfare of the aviation community is paramount to AOPA and the AOPA Foundation. We are taking the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously and following the CDC’s recommendation for social distancing. Most of our employees are working remotely to mitigate the spread of the virus. With that being said, the AOPA Foundation remains committed to our important work of building a stronger, safer pilot community.
During this unusual time when flying may not be a possibility, we hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to sharpen your skills with an AOPA Air Safety Institute course, downloadable seminar or video series—all provided free-of-charge, thanks to AOPA Foundation donors like you.
Although all of our in-person safety seminars, You Can Fly Rusty Pilots seminars and High School Teacher Training workshops have been postponed, many resources have been adjusted to be delivered in an online format. It is critical that we continue to offer training for the educators who will be teaching our STEM curriculum in the fall, so they are prepared to deliver the content and inspire the next generation of aviators.
At this time, the health and safety of our country is of utmost importance. Long-term, we recognize the economic impact that COVID-19 may have. Your support of the AOPA Foundation has perhaps never been more important than it is right now. The next several weeks and months will be accompanied by much uncertainty, but one thing remains clear: we must continue to preserve and protect our freedom to fly for generations to come.
Please consider making a gift to the AOPA Foundation—and, thanks to the generosity of the Ray Foundation, your donation will still be matched, dollar-for-dollar. Your gift is a vote of confidence in the AOPA Foundation, and in the future of general aviation.
Despite the uncertainty of today’s times, our aviation community will remain strong. Thank you for playing such an important role.
Blue skies and stay well,
Melissa Rudinger
