25 things to do in Livermore, California

From visiting the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz to enjoying fine dining and wine tastings, you can do it all when you are in California for the AOPA Fly-In at Livermore June 21 and 22.

  1. Fly into the Tri-Valley to Livermore Municipal Airport for the AOPA Fly-In June 21 and 22.
  2. Take in two days of ground school workshops to help you be a safer, smarter pilot.
  3. Enjoy a STOL demonstration and nighttime drone airshow.
  4. Eat fine fare from Livermore-area chefs.
  5. Tour the Wente Vineyards sandstone caves where wine was stored before air conditioning. The barrels inside these caves will amaze you.
  6. Meet AOPA President Mark Baker at one of two Pilot Town Hall meetings.
  7. Immerse yourself in wine history—Wente and Concannon estates from 1883.
  8. Tour the Discovery Center at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
  9. See the planet’s longest-running light bulb according to the Guinness Book of World Records at Livermore Fire Station No. 6.
  10. Think purple. Visit the Darcie Kent Vineyards owned by renowned artist Darcie Kent.
  11. The First Street Alehouse has the world’s largest collection of beer cans—6,000 on display.

  20. Fly or drive over the Golden Gate Bridge.
  21. Play a round of golf on the 3,000 acres at Poppy Ridge.
