Heat, and tweaks, for 2018 TBMs

Daher, manufacturer of the TBM series of single-engine turboprops, has announced some enhancements to its 2018 line of TBM 910 and TBM 930 models. Topping the list are electrically heated seats.

Once the pilot turns on the master heating control, the seats can be individually controlled so that pilots and passengers can dial in heat to light or moderate settings. Daher says that its heated seats are the first to appear in any single-engine turboprop.

Also new in the 2018 models is backlighting on the cockpit center console to better illuminate the manual pitch trim wheel, power lever, flap lever, and manual override control at night. A high-fidelity microphone is also being installed in the pilot’s oxygen mask to improve communications with air traffic control with the mask in use.

In addition, Daher’s Total Care Program coverage will continue for all new TBMs with the Elite package, along with new services: subscriptions to the Garmin Pilot database and Jeppesen PilotPak bundle, and, in nations where available, a three-month subscription to Sirius XM weather and radio.
