During EAA AirVenture in 2018, FreeFlight Systems’ Technical Services Manager Brad Brunson received a support call from a customer who happened to also be on the ground at Oshkosh, creating a unique and somewhat rare opportunity for pilot and customer support to meet face-to-face to troubleshoot the issue. The pilot had a RANGR ADS-B system onboard his Beechcraft Debonair, but was in need of some expert advice and assistance.
Brad immediately sprang into support action, arranging a meeting with the pilot, and then overnighting one of FreeFlight Systems’ ADS-B ramp testers to help him more thoroughly investigate the issue the pilot was experiencing.
The next day, a quick ride on the yellow tram from Hangar B and Brad was up and running, test set in hand, working with the pilot as he sat in the right seat cycling through aircraft settings. After about an hour or so, Brad had enough real-time data for a more comprehensive understanding and ultimately a speedier resolution of the issue.
“This was a great experience,” said Brad, “While helping customers is something I do every day back at my office in Texas, I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet and assist one of our RANGR-equipped pilots.”
While this particular situation is certainly unique, it is not out of the ordinary for our support team, and specifically for Brad. With the purchase of every FreeFlight Systems’ RANGR ADS-B system, pilots not only receive a standard five-year warranty, but also have access to our industry-leading, personalized, and prompt customer support. Your aircraft belongs in the air, not in the shop, and Brad along with the other members of our support team are always ready to make things right, whether it be over the phone or in person.
