AOPA Fly-Ins: Great news and big changes

aopa fly-insMore than 300 aircraft have already registered to fly in for the AOPA Fly-In at San Marcos, Texas, on April 26. AOPA is excited about members’ response in wanting to come together for a great day of flying, friends, fun, and food.

With still a few weeks to go before the first Fly-In event, in San Marcos, and many more members likely to register, AOPA recognizes a unique situation arising. To preserve safety and comfortably accommodate the volume of aircraft arriving, the association is reorganizing the schedule of the day to allow for a more even flow of aircraft arrivals.

Therefore, AOPA is extending the Pancake Breakfast to run from 8:30 to 10 a.m., and moving the Pilot Town Hall with AOPA President Mark Baker to the afternoon. This will allow pilots to choose to arrive throughout the morning and still be able to attend this important session with Baker. The association will offer some enjoyable entertainment at the breakfast in lieu of the town hall, and invites everyone to attend the town hall session at 2:30 p.m. This schedule change will also apply to other 2014 fly-ins, as AOPA now envisions a similar positive response to those events.

Thank you for your patience and understanding with these important changes. AOPA puts your safety first, and wants to be sure that everyone has a great experience arriving to and departing from the association’s fly-ins.
