Plane spotter: An injection of technology

Plane Spotter Flight Design CTLSi

Surveying the new arrivals on the ramp, a plane spotter challenges those gathered to point out the composite-built, glass-cockpit aircraft that represents significant technological strides for its series. Rule out any of the familiar old aluminum aircraft out there; rule out the light sport aircraft that landed last night—so which is it? Take another look at that LSA. It’s a Flight Design CTLSi, the new, fuel-efficient iteration of the CTLS series from Germany. The extra letter in CTLSi indicates that the aircraft uses a 912Si fuel injected Rotax engine.
