Bombardier President of Customer Service and Specialized and mphibious Aircraft Eric Martel announced Oct. 30 that a second Bombardier training center would open in Amsterdam in 2014.
The new training center will be the first to train pilots of Global 5000, 6000, 7000, and 8000 airplanes in Europe. It will be operated by training firm CAE, which was named as the sole authorized training provider for pilot and maintenance personnel for all Bombardier business jets in Europe. Ultimately, there will be six simulators at the Amsterdam facility. The pre-existing training facility in Amsterdam offers training in Bombardier’s Challenger 300 and Challenger 604 business jets.
This site also will complement CAE’s existing training locations at Burgess Hill (London), U.K., which provides pilot training for the Learjet 40 and 45, Bombardier’s Global Express and Global Express XRS.
Bombardier took the opportunity to emphasize the breadth of its commitment to customer service by noting that the company has two, 24/7 customer response centers (one in Montreal, one in Wichita, Kan.), 12 regional support centers, 10 parts depots on five continents, nine wholly owned Bombardier service centers, plus 52 authorized service centers.
