It's a sunny beautiful day in southern California, but no one wants to be outside--unless it's at the airport--because Long Beach is hosting AOPA Aviation Summit and the convention center is humming with excited energy.
There's music, video, aircraft displays, new products, and lots of plane crazy people. Longtime friends are meeting up, and new relationships are being forged as pilots check out the latest in avionics, peruse nearly 75 aircraft on display, and take part in safety and educational forums.
Jeppesen has new offerings, there are dog biscuits in the shape of airplanes, the Recreational Aviation Foundation is handing out cool orange bracelets proclaiming "Join Team RAF," and there is a line of people waiting to test Sporty's transceiver with an ILS display.
These are just a few of the highlights from Summit’s opening day. Don’t miss a minute. Register online to attend in person or catch the action on AOPA Live. —AOPA Publications staff
