The Go Fast! Jet Pack has started a new category of official world records by flying at 43 mph into a headwind at an airshow in Scotland. There were no previous world records in the category, so the speed was up to pilot Eric Scott. He flew 68 mph later in the day to set a new record.
The hydrogen-peroxide powered Jet Pack had a headwind of 32 mph for the first attempt. Go Fast! is a Denver-based sports drink company and is the sponsor of the Jet Pack, which gives exhibitions around the country. A police radar gun at MotorFair, Scotland’s biggest motor show recorded the record.
While the Jet Pack could have done better in no-wind conditions, at least it is now in the Guinness Book of World Records.
