The 114B belongs to the most highly competitive class of airplanes in general aviation outside of corporate jets: four-place, normally aspirated single-engine retractables. This two-door, tricycle gear aircraft sports a high amount of wing dihedral and a cruciform tail configuration, and with numerous updates in both performance and comfort, the 114B has a leg up on its predecessors. Its luxury interior, good load-carrying capability, and easy handling does come at a price—it’s not as speedy as some of its competitors—but it’s a sacrifice many are willing to make for this solid, comfortable airplane.
