Write Your Business Plan

Good fortune = opportunity + planning

Now that you have conducted some market research, you are ready to start working on your business plan.

What kind of services will your school offer?

If there are other schools at the airport or at a nearby airport, what will set your school apart to attract customers? Maybe you will specialize in tailwheel, aerobatic, backcountry, or some other specific training. Perhaps the focus will be on training for a particular flying lifestyle (e.g., people seeking to fly recreationally versus those who are trying to become career pilots). Or perhaps you are just looking to provide an exceptional customer experience that exceeds all expectations. Whatever it may be, make sure that your idea provides something that you think will attract people to your school.

Write it down!

Getting your ideas down on paper (or on the screen) can help you work through the key details of what your flight school will be like. It can also help you get funding or other business partners by showing them a well thought out and realistic vision of what you hope to accomplish.
