Experimental and light sport aircraft total and fatal accidents continue to decline in 2016 (Figure 5.1). The majority of accidents were mechanical followed by landing accidents (Figure 5.2). However, the majority of fatal accidents occurred during maneuvering followed by mechanical. Single-engine fixed-gear made up the majority of total and fatal accidents with 123 and 23 respectively (Figure 5.3).
