Flowers are blooming, temperatures are rising, and the days are getting longer. Many of us have finally defrosted from the colder winter months and are embracing the newfound sunshine. After the stress of the last two years, we’re ready to dive back into life and take advantage of all the fun activities that come with the Spring season.
Here’s our picks for some top springtime activities:
FLYING: As an aviation group, we’d be remiss not to put flying at the top of this list. Afterall, what better time to dust off those wings and get in the air. Spring is a perfect season for pilots to fly to new destinations and check off those bucket list places they’ve been wanting to travel. Many airports are also taking advantage of the warmer weather by hosting fly-ins, airshows, and community barbeques and gatherings. Check out AOPA’s event calendar for some inspo.
TAKE A HIKE: Spring is a great time to get in tune with nature. Grab a camelback, strap on some hiking boots and enjoy the fresh air—it’s good for the soul.
HIT THE SLOPES: Channel your inner snow bunny and hit the slopes one last time before the snow melts. Spring skiing often means fewer crowds and cheaper lift tickets. Not to mention, temperatures tend to stay around 50 degrees this time of year so you might catch the hardcore ski bums in t-shirts. Bonus points for enjoying a refreshing beverage or two at the local ski lodge while resting those sore muscles after a long day on the mountain.
TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME: 2022 MLB is in full swing with many fans gearing up for an exciting season. Even if you aren’t a huge baseball fan, the hotdogs, cold drinks, and pre-game tailgating should be enough to draw you to the ballpark.
SPRING CLEANING: There’s a reason Spring is known as the season of renewal. Get a fresh start and clean out your house or begin a new fun project.
GET FESTIVE: Festivals are back! Depending on your vibe, grab some friends and plan a trip to Coachella, Jazz Fest, or Lollapalooza. Not up for traveling? Many cities host their own local festivals this time of year.
