Dynon integrates Trig Avionics

Dynon Avionics said it has acquired Trig Avionics through a strategic investment aimed at strengthening its existing partnership with the maker of communication radios and transponders for general aviation. Under the deal, Trig joins the Dynon Group of companies.

Based in Woodinville, Washington, and founded in 2000, Dynon is known for its SkyView HDX line of avionics for experimental, light sport, and certified aircraft. The company also owns Advanced Flight Systems, which makes the AF-5000 and AF-6000 series of avionics and the Advanced Panel, a ready-built avionics package that aircraft builders can install quickly.

Trig Avionics, founded in 2004 and based in the United Kingdom, is known for designing and manufacturing high-quality aircraft radios that are compact and energy efficient. Trig radios have been installed in light airplanes, helicopters, and gliders.

"We are excited to welcome Trig to the Dynon family," said Brad Thurow, president of Dynon Avionics. "Trig is a well-respected brand in the aviation industry, with products that are known for their quality and reliability. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver integrated and innovative avionics solutions for the GA community.”

In addition to acquiring Trig, the Dynon Group named Thurow its new president. Thurow joined Dynon four years ago as part of its succession plan, serving as vice president of engineering. Longtime president Robert Hamilton will become chief operating officer.

For years Trig has supplied Dynon with transceivers and transponders for use in its SkyView and Advanced lines of avionics. Now the merged companies will be able to work together more closely and expand their range of avionics worldwide.

“We are pleased to be joining forces with Dynon Avionics,” said Andy Davis, CEO of Trig Avionics. “Dynon is a world leader in avionics innovation, and we believe that our combined expertise will allow us to develop even better products for our customers. We look forward to a bright future together.”
