Tecnam, Evionica unveil computer-based training for P-Mentor

Tecnam, a manufacturer of piston single and light twin aircraft, said it has developed a computer-based training, or CBT, program for its P-Mentor trainer in partnership with Evionica, a producer of aviation training technology.

The program’s data-driven curriculum is designed to make classroom instruction more efficient and engaging while reducing instructors’ workload and to provide training that accurately reflects real-world aviation experiences. Tecnam said it used its aircraft data and decades of training experience, combined with Evionica’s technical prowess, to tailor the training platform to serve the needs of modern flight schools and student pilots around the world.

“Evionica has brought an impressive level of professionalism and digital know-how to this collaboration,” said Walter Da Costa, Tecnam chief sales officer. “The P-Mentor is central to our vision of a comprehensive, modern flight training ecosystem—and now, thanks to this CBT, operators have a powerful tool to deliver theory and procedures in a format students understand. Together, we are shaping the standard for next-generation pilot training.”

Tecnam said its engineers worked closely with Evionica’s development team to produce a training system that goes beyond digital manuals. The adaptable platform supports training for private pilot certificate, instrument rating, and upset prevention and recovery.

The platform is specific to the P-Mentor, which Tecnam designed as an all-in-one trainer capable of taking students from basic ground school through commercial and instrument ratingsqualifications. The aircraft was designed to train career pilots. The fixed-gear P-Mentor even has a landing gear switch to help ingrain the retract and extension procedure in aspiring professional pilots. The CBT is “deeply informed by operational experience,” Tecnam said, with detailed animation and scenarios that reflect the P-Mentor’s characteristics and typical training environments.

“From the outset of our collaboration with Tecnam, we shared a clear vision: to shape the future of aviation training through innovation and partnership,” said Evionica CEO Mateusz Godun. “The P-Mentor CBT is a tangible result of that vision — a product born from shared expertise, mutual respect, and a deep understanding of what modern flight schools need. With Tecnam’s aircraft insights and our digital learning design, we’ve created a training solution that is not only immersive and intuitive, but truly aligned with the demands of today’s pilot education.”
