With the bottomless blue Crater Lake National Park, the intriguing Lava Beds National Monument, and the history preserved at Tule Lake National Monument, LMT is the perfect jumping-off point for diverse adventures. And pilots here know that to be true.
Klamath Basin Flyers, based at LMT, is the 250th flying club to join the AOPA Flying Club Network. Formed in June 2024, the club has both flying members and social members. Flying members pay $25 per month but are required to rent aircraft for a minimum one hour as part of their dues. The club has a Cessna 172 and a Mooney M20C. Social members pay $25 and can take advantage of the club’s social, educational, and other activities.
The club benefits from a great GA airport that has a nearly two-mile-long runway in Class D airspace that offers the incredible sites and vistas of the PNW. Flight training is offered to members, and there is a Redbird simulator for time-building.
Flying clubs are one of the best ways to save money while you fly more, enjoy increased access to aircraft, and spend time with friends and family. Whether you are new to flying or you’ve been a pilot for years, flying clubs have something for you.
The AOPA Flying Clubs team is committed to helping more pilots experience the unique benefits of flying club membership. Whether you want to find out more about flying clubs in your area, join an existing club, or start a brand-new club, the team is here to help.
