Trio Pro Pilot approved for use with Dynon Certified SkyView HDX

The FAA approved the integration of Dynon Avionics’ SkyView HDX displays with the Trio Pro Pilot autopilot, expanding economical autopilot options for pilots flying a range of certified aircraft. The approval includes all type-certified aircraft for which the two-axis, approach-capable Trio autopilot is already available.

When the SkyView HDX is connected to the Trio Pro Pilot it becomes a single entry point for flight information including heading, barometric altitude, and altitude preselect. The Trio autopilot also receives guidance directly from the various bugs that pilots set on the SkyView and the system can fly fully coupled IFR GPS approaches.

“Dynon is excited to bring autopilot capability to dozens of new SkyView HDX equipped aircraft models,” said Michael Schofield, Dynon’s director of marketing. “By integrating SkyView HDX with Trio Pro Pilot, pilots enjoy a powerful and user-friendly autopilot solution that complements and works with their advanced avionics system. Dynon is thrilled to partner with Trio and The STC Group on this project.”

SkyView is approved for installation in almost 800 piston single and twin models. The integration approval allows SkyView to be used with several aircraft families including Cessna 150, 152, 170B, 172 through 172E, 172RG, 175, 177, 180, 185, 182 through 182D, 185, 190, 195, and LC–26; Piper PA–24, PA–28, and PA-32; and the Grumman AA–5 series. Dynon SkyView HDX systems start at $11,010. Prices for the Trio Pro Pilot, which is available from The STC Group, vary by model and start at $6,345 for the Cessna 150 and 152.
