Looking good next to your favorite form of transportation

Looks like our members are having love affairs—with their airplanes, of course. And what better way to show off your favorite magic carpet than with a photo of the pair of you together. Thanks for sending your photos—they’re great!

Why I love my airplane

  • Why I love my airplane
SeaRey Elite; I love my little flying boat, it brings together my favorite environments, sky and water. Nimble in the air, on the water it's like a jet ski with wings!; Harold Roberts; Excelsior, Minnesota.
  • Why I love my airplane
2019 Pipistrel Alpha; What’s not to love about a beautifully sleek, all composite aircraft that delivers great performance with an 80 hp Rotax engine, cruises at 108 Kts and uses less than three and a half gallons per hour of 100LL or mogas. It’s got modern avionics, air brakes, and even an airframe ballistic parachute. Everywhere we land people are curious to check out the "Pip."; Daniel Zurich; Lakewood, New Jersey.
  • Why I love my airplane
1979 Cessna 182 RG; I love my airplane because of the adventures it has given me. We've been to both total eclipses and in 11 years I have taken over 385 people for airplane rides. Some have been inspired to be pilots or existing pilots getting renewed to fly again! My favorite joke while in flight is to point to the floor with a serious face and announce: "That is a flying carpet."; Kyle Nelson, Andy Berry; St. Paul, Minnesota.
  • Why I love my airplane
I have been flying for almost my entire adult life and I love my Piper Saratoga II TC, my “Bird.” She’s sleek and fast and represents total freedom to me. Flying her clears my head, and fills me with joy! I cannot imagine life without flying!; Courtesy photo by Sherrie Harvey.
  • Why I love my airplane
Our CPA firm has owned a 1978 Beech Duke for six years and it has been a joy. It took a lot to get her in shape from being unused but this baby piston powered King Air is a solid, stable, pressurized airplane that is used to transport staff between our offices in West Chicago, Illinois, and Savannah Georgia; Peter J. Messina Sr.
