Peace of mind: One more reason to choose Citation

A Cessna Citation® jet is naturally on the short list for your next aircraft. It just makes sense. The mathematical logic of range, speed, capability, operating cost, and financial value all add up to a pleasing bottom line.

Meanwhile, the quality of precise engineering, the eye-catching elegance inside and out, the comfort for you and your passengers and the legacy of quality and product support from a time-honored marque, is what makes the Citation® jet lineup so legendary.

Now, the cutting-edge cockpits of the Citation M2® Gen3™, CJ3® Gen3™, and CJ4® Gen3™ business jets just got better – with the addition of Garmin® Emergency Autoland as a standard feature, providing an added layer of protection to both pilots and their passengers in the case of an unforeseen event. If called upon, Garmin® Emergency Autoland steps in to stabilize your jet, evaluate the aircraft’s location and chooses the best airport to divert to. Garmin® Emergency Autoland considers fuel on board, weather, terrain, obstacles, and even runway surface and length all of the factors a pilot in command would consider.

A smart helper in your back pocket

Even though one of the reasons that a Citation® business jet is an appealing choice is its single-pilot type rating, which covers the entire lineup of Cessna 525 Citation® jets, it’s not hard to imagine an unforeseen situation where some extra help would be good to have. It’s simply peace of mind knowing that in the rare case of a serious event, Garmin® Emergency Autoland can bring your jet back to the ground for you.

The system even briefs passengers on the steps to take to prepare for landing and communicates with air traffic control and pilots of nearby aircraft while flying the jet to the most suitable in-range airport for an automated landing. Garmin® Emergency Autoland takes care of the power settings, configures the flaps, and lowers the landing gear. Once securely on the ground, the system brings the aircraft to a stop, applying automatic braking while tracking the runway centerline, then powers down the aircraft.

Anyone in the aircraft can engage Garmin® Emergency Autoland with a push of a single button if there is a serious event onboard, providing an added layer of in-flight protection and peace of mind. Rest assured, the system has your back: if you are inactive for a period of time and don’t respond to prompts from the avionics, Garmin® Emergency Autoland automatically engages and “takes over” the flight.

If mistakenly engaged, taking back control from Garmin® Emergency Autoland is easy. With a single press of a key on the autopilot controller, or the disconnect button on the yoke, you are back in command.

Only there if you need it

In all probability, you won’t need Garmin® Emergency Autoland, but the peace of mind both for you and your loved ones of having it onboard adds value. Garmin® Emergency Autoland is one more item to add to the “plus” side of the decision tree when choosing your next aircraft, along with the hard math of range, speed, capability, operating cost, and financial value; and the extensive engineering, aesthetics, quality, service, and reputation. Citation® Gen3™ jets: it makes business sense; and it just feels right.
