Pilot education video collaboration launches

AOPA and the FAA are teaming up to help pilots steer clear of regulatory trouble with their certificate.

The three-part video series Protecting your Pilot Certificate will cover information that pilots should know and understand when it comes to flying passengers and property safely and legally.

FAA Aviation Safety Inspector Don Riley and AOPA Legal Lead Ian Arendt are the two subject matter experts featured in the series, which is hosted by AOPA Communications Director Eric Blinderman and FAA Program Management Analyst Jamal Wilson.

The first video was published July 24. Cost Sharing your Aircraft focuses on the complexity and nuance that pilots should consider when sharing expenses with a passenger. Subsequent videos in the series are in production and will be released later this year.
