Help make flight training better for all

AOPA Flight Training Experience Survey now open

AOPA is seeking feedback from pilots currently or recently engaged in flight training.

For years, results from AOPA’s annual Flight Training Experience Survey has shaped flight training industry standards and best practices by helping certificated flight instructors and flight schools identify trends and pinpoint areas of strength and weakness.

The short survey should take participants about 10 minutes to complete and gives pilots of all experience levels the chance to share information about the quality of instruction they received from their CFI and/or flight school. The survey will measure CFI and flight school performance based on educational quality, customer focus, community, and information sharing.

The survey team has posted examples of feedback flight schools and instructors receive. The reports give aviation educators an idea of where they stand in relation to national measures of student satisfaction and offer constructive criticism on areas of improvement.

Information gleaned from the survey is also used to recognize and present awards to exemplary flight instructors and schools. Based on the results, industry experts will choose six flight schools and six CFIs from across the country to be recognized as the best in their region as well as one school and CFI who were a cut above the rest.

Visit the 2024 Flight Training Experience Survey and Awards webpage for more information on rules, the benefits of survey participation, and a link to take the survey. As a thank-you for completing the survey, participants will receive 10 percent off at the AOPA Pilot Gear Store and have the opportunity to enter the 2024 AOPA Flight Training Experience Sweepstakes and become eligible to win one of many valuable prizes. (No purchase is necessary; see official rules and details on the prizes online.)
