The D-Day anniversary flight

New movie takes you along with the veterans

Into Flight Once More is a new documentary that follows 15 groups of dedicated pilots, mechanics, history buffs, and veterans who devoted themselves to locating and restoring vintage Douglas DC–3s to recreate their heroic wartime flights on the seventy-fifth anniversary of D-Day in 2022.

Pilot ProductsDirected and produced by Emmy nominee Adrienne Hall in her feature documentary directorial debut and narrated by Academy Award nominee and veterans’ advocate Gary Sinise, the documentary is now available on all major retail streaming platforms.

Into Flight Once More introduces veterans on each step of the journey from the United States to France, as they reconnect with the airplanes that flew, provisioned, rescued, supported, and meant so much to them during wartime. As the aircraft spark memories, these veterans open up about their experiences, with details they’ve never shared before. Their journey takes viewers across the United States to Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, the United Kingdom, and finally to France.

The D-Day Squadron, flying airplanes such as D-Day Doll, Flabob Express, That’s All Brother, and Spirit of Benovia participated in fly-overs and meet-and-greets along the way, where they were welcomed by enthusiastic crowds thrilled by the chance to see these historic airplanes in person and to hear first-hand from those who had originally flown them and the dedicated men and women who had restored them.
