Shark

You just might want to catch this one

And for the engine size—a 100-horsepower Rotax 912—it is. The full composite Shark cruises around 150 mph while enjoying efficient fuel consumption, burning just 4 to 6 gallons per hour. It also has retractable gear and a variable pitch propeller, which help add to its speed.

With only two seats, this unique aircraft isn’t a perfect fit for those looking to haul around a group of friends or family, but it is a great choice for someone looking to have fun and fly on solo trips. Currently, the Shark is available in the United States in a basic or fast-build kit under the experimental-exhibition category.

The Shark gained prominence as the chosen vessel for Belgian aviator Zara Rutherford, who became the youngest woman to fly around the world in 2021 at age 19. Rutherford’s Shark was “specially prepared” for her extended journey.

Shark Aero is based at the Senica Airport (LZSE) in the Slovak Republic.
