Will fly for beer

Take your passengers to airport breweries

Road Trip

Entice passengers to join you with a visit to one of these on-the-field (or near) breweries. After they enjoy a flight of beers, take some to go for the pilot in command to try when you get home.

Cape May Brewing Co.—Cape May, New Jersey (WWD)
This brewery is just a few blocks from the Cape May County Airport and offers fresh beer and hard seltzers, a seasonal Brewtanical Garden, and tours. Nautically themed and inviting, this brewery follows a bring your own food policy in accordance with New Jersey state law, so plan ahead or grab a bite at the Flight Deck Diner before you walk over for beer.

Hangar 24 Brewing—Redlands, California (REI)
Located on the field, Hangar 24 has been serving up beer since 2008. The award-winning brewery offers growlers, flights, and an onsite food truck. Try their Orange Wheat, which uses fresh local oranges and is inspired by flying in Redlands: “At certain times of the year, when you fly over the orange groves here in Redlands, you can smell the blossoms.”

Flight Deck Brewing—Brunswick, Maine (BXM)
This brewery is on the field at Brunswick Executive Airport (formerly the Brunswick Naval Air Station) in a repurposed small arms shooting range. Enjoy Remove Before Flight Red Ale (among others), fresh wood-fired pizza, and live music every Friday night.

FlyteCo Brewing—Denver, Colorado
Sip beers like Heading 270, a West Coast IPA, inside a Boeing 737 fuselage and enjoy this “by pilots, for pilots” location with touches only aviators can fully appreciate. FlyteCo is not situated on an airport, but it plans to open a second location in the former Stapleton International Airport tower this year.

WHY YOU SHOULD GO
Branch out from the $100 hamburger with to-go beers from one of these breweries, or make it an overnight trip and grab a drink after you fly in.
