Swiss watchmaker (and AOPA Premier Partner) Breitling orchestrated a warbird exercise at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh that took us back in time as we flew aboard a bomber in the formidable formation, propellers gleaming in the early morning sun, framed perfectly by the clouds.
That put AOPA Senior Photographer David Tulis and AOPA Pilot Video Producer Josh Cochran on the inside track for precious seats aboard a vintage bomber that joined an early morning formation flight that woke up sleeping AirVenture campers July 27 with radial engine alarm clocks signaling sights rarely seen since these aircraft were flown in anger to help win World War II.
