Start the New Year off flying in AOPA's Pilot Passport challenge

If you’re in search of warmer weather and a good challenge, log into the AOPA app’s Pilot Passport feature and fly south for the winter.

January’s Pilot Passport challenge encourages pilots to fly to the Southern states during the month. States specific to this month’s challenge are Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana.

The three participants with the most check-ins in the designated states on the Pilot Passport feature of the AOPA app will be the grand prize winners. Each of the winners will receive the AOPA Pilot Guides: Bahamas and Caribbean forty-second editions. The approximate retail value of the guide is $79.95.

Airports in the South have a lot to offer to any pilot. Aviators could consider a couple’s trip to New Orleans, a visit to the historical Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site in Alabama; a $100 hamburger run to the Peach State Aerodrome in Georgia; or a family visit to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. No matter your mission, the South has an adventure for everyone.

The challenge is open to all legal residents of the United States, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older and possess a current FAA-issued student, sport, recreational, private, commercial, or airline transport pilot certificate.

If you still need to download the AOPA app, make sure to visit the Apple or Google Play stores.

Read the complete rules.
