ATP opens Texas airline pilot training center

ATP Flight School unveiled its new, 25,000-square-foot airline pilot training center at the Arlington Municipal Airport in Arlington, Texas, October 8, the largest facility of its kind in the state.

The new training center is the centerpiece of ATP’s network of 70 flight training schools around the country.

The ATP Airline Career Pilot Program is designed to allow new flight students to advance through commercial, multiengine, and flight instructor ratings in as little as seven months. ATP uses G1000-equipped Cessna 172s and Piper Archers as well as Piper Seminoles to prepare students for professional pilot careers.

Graduates of the FAA Part 142 airline training center are in high demand among airlines struggling to address a surge in retirements and other increased staffing needs.

About 650 ATP graduates in Texas have been hired at American Eagle or Envoy Air to date.
