FAA proposes superseding AD for Piper agplane
The FAA has proposed an airworthiness directive to supersede two ADs that require repetitive wing spar inspections and impose life limits for some wing structure components of several models of the Piper PA–36 agricultural airplane to add provisions inadvertently omitted from the original ADs.
Comments will be accepted until May 7 on the proposed superseding AD, which is estimated to affect 123 U.S.-registered airplanes.
The requirements of those ADs would be retained, and the proposed AD would mandate the spar carry through assembly inspection from AD 79-01-03 “for additional airplanes and add life limits for certain wing structural components previously omitted from AD 83-20-03 for certain serial numbered airplanes” as listed in the proposal.
