After several months of travel restrictions and various periods of quarantine because of the coronavirus pandemic, many might be longing to spend the holidays with their families. Flying yourself is one way to help you and your household social distance from others en route.
To earn a region badge, you’ll definitely be doing some fun flying—you might want to strategically plan your route. “Region badges are earned by getting all the state badges within that region of the same level,” according to the Pilot Passport webpage. “For example, earning all the silver state badges in the central southwest region will earn you the silver central southwest region badge.”
On your quest for region badges, you’ll need to earn state badges along the way. To do that, check in at a certain number of airports in each state in a region. Most states require you to check into at least five distinct airports in the state to get a bronze level badge (states with fewer than five airports require fewer check-ins). State badges range from bronze to platinum.
So, to earn a bronze badge for the Central Southwest region, you would first need earn a bronze badge for each of the nine states in that region. (For complete details, see the official rules.)
Have fun flying to see your family, and check in along the way in the Pilot Passport challenge.
