Continental offers break on engine core exchanges

Continental Aerospace Technologies announced a program offering purchasers of a new or rebuilt Continental factory engine credit for the full value of a returned engine core regardless of its condition.

The offer applies to firm non-cancellable orders for new or rebuilt certified Continental avgas factory engines received by Continental between June 1 and July 3, according to a notice posted on the Continental website.

Engine orders must be marked for immediate delivery as soon as the engines are available or completed by Continental. Deferred-delivery orders do not qualify.

During the promotion, Continental will waive standard exchange requirements of the engine core being serviceable, assembled, and complete, the notice said. Engine cores must be returned through the normal return process. Cores that do not include all components detailed in the notice will be evaluated and receive up to 50 percent of the core credit.

During the promotion Continental is allowing the exchange of engine cores of a different model and configuration, with qualifying unlike cores “credited the core value of the engine model and configuration of the factory engine being ordered,” the announcement said.
