The National Business Aviation Association has canceled its 2020 Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition scheduled for October in Orlando, Florida, based on health concerns and travel restrictions in place because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The association cited recommendations from the Florida Department of Health to limit gatherings to 50 people or fewer as well as state and international travel restrictions that would “make it not only difficult, but in many cases impossible, for individuals and companies to participate in the world’s largest business aviation event.”
Bolen said NBAA staff are beginning preparations for the association’s 2021 event, scheduled for October 12 to 14 in Las Vegas.
NBAA felt the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on its events early in the year, deciding in February to cancel the 2020 Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition that was scheduled for April. The European Business Aviation Association and NBAA followed again in March, jointly canceling the 2020 European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition that was scheduled in May. Then, the association canceled all its events through July 1.
