The FAA will have an informal airspace meeting June 12 to gather information on the modification of some Florida airspace: Miami’s Class B and Fort Lauderdale’s Class C.
The fact-finding session will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on June 12 at Broward College, South Campus Building 69, Room 133, 7200 Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
Rune Duke, AOPA senior director of airspace, air traffic, and aviation security noted that AOPA has participated in the FAA’s long-unfolding process of planning for the Florida airspace modifications and served on an ad hoc committee reviewing the airspace configuration in 2010. Public meetings were held as long ago as 2012. Now that the airspace issues have been further refined, additional public input is being sought, he said.
Members may submit comments on the airspace modifications by email or by mail in triplicate to Ryan Almasy, Manager of Operations Support Group, Eastern Service Area, Air Traffic Organization, Federal Aviation Administration, P.O. Box 20636, Atlanta, GA, 30320. Please share your comments with AOPA.
See this notice for more information about the meeting and about submitting information for the FAA’s review.
