BAKERSFIELD, CA – To better serve Southern California residents, California Aeronautical University (CAU) launches its new Flight Centers in the communities of Oxnard and San Diego, California. The University Flight Centers provide local residents the opportunity to earn their Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics degree online from their hometown.
With this new launch, students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautics online can pursue their degree while receiving flight instruction at their local California Aeronautical University Flight Center, which are located at Oxnard Airport (KOXR) and Montgomery Field (KMYF).
“We’re excited to enter these communities and bring an aviation degree within reach of so many more future pilots,” said Matthew Johnston, President of California Aeronautical University. “Now aspiring aviators who live near a CAU Flight Center can stay local while still achieving their dream of becoming a professional pilot.”
As a more flexible version of the University’s immersive aeronautics program at the main campus in Bakersfield, CA, online students can earn their bachelor’s degree within approximately three years. Students in the program also earn six certificates and ratings, including private pilot, instrument rating, commercial – single engine, commercial – multi-engine, CFI and CFII upon graduation.
California Aeronautical University’s ground and flight training holds FAA Part 141 approval. As part of the University, students who earn their professional pilot degree online benefit by receiving a 500 flight-hour reduction when seeking their ATP certificate.
Additionally, students also benefit from the University’s airline partnerships that can provide a direct pathway to airline cadet programs. CAU currently has partnerships with eight regional airlines, including SkyWest Airlines and Piedmont Airlines, and continues to build relationships with regional airlines to create opportunities for graduates upon completion of their aeronautics degree program.
The University offers financial assistance to those who qualify.
The CAU Flight Center at Oxnard Airport launched August 2018 and is now enrolling for their online aeronautics program. The Flight Center at Montgomery Field in San Diego will launch October 2018.
