Question of the Week
Question

I'm thinking of switching to BasicMed instead of renewing my FAA third class medical certificate. I do most of my flying within the United States, but I am planning to take a trip to Mexico this fall. Can I fly under BasicMed for this trip?
Answer
No. BasicMed is currently valid only in the United States and the Bahamas. To fly to Mexico, you must have a valid third class medical certificate at the time of the flight. Learn what you can and cannot do under BasicMed.
