What Faust flew
Faust might never have made his deal with the devil had he lived several centuries later when aviation had blossomed with its promise of eternal entertainments. Fortunately, by then in Cody, Wyoming, there was Elmer Faust, an inventive pilot who took the fuselage and wings from a wrecked Piper PA–12, landing-gear parts from a Fairchild 24W, and a Warner Scarab radial engine to create the experimental Faust PA–12. Faust's flyer first flew in 1954, was modified further, and in 2018 was flown to EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, by current owner James Booth.
Final Exam
Question

Can a flight instructor whose instructor certificate includes a single-engine rating but who holds a multiengine rating as a commercial pilot give a flight review in a multiengine airplane?
Answer
No. According to 14 CFR 61.56, a flight instructor provides flight training during a flight review. The instructor must hold a multiengine instructor rating to provide flight reviews in multiengine airplanes.

This question and answer were provided by the aviation experts in AOPA's Pilot Information Center. Did you know that student pilots who join AOPA are three times more likely to complete their flight training?
