Bell makes 429 wheeled chopper delivery

Bell delivers the Bell429WLG, a helicopter with wheeled landing gear.

Bell Helicopter has made the first delivery of the Bell 429WLG (wheeled landing gear) in North America. It went to Kenny Habul, part-time NASCAR Nationwide Series driver and CEO of SunEnergy1.

The Bell 429WLG will be used for corporate and VIP transportation.

Bell Helicopter announced the 429WLG in 2013 at the National Business Aviation Association convention. The helicopter combines the capabilities of the Bell 429 with wheeled landing gear.

The 429WLG can be flown single-pilot under instrument flight rules. The retractable wheeled landing gear allows for both repositioning in limited spaces and situations that require ground taxi, such as positioning closer to fixed-base operators. It has a glass cockpit with two or three multi-function displays, dual digital autopilots, and an integrated electronic data recorder.
