Tecnam’s P2010, featured in the September 2015 issue of AOPA Pilot, has received certification in Europe for the Garmin G500 IFR avionics suite. The four-seat, high-wing aircraft is fully certified and priced at $345,000, an introductory price that is now permanent.
The first delivery of the aircraft was in Europe in December 2014. The aircraft is offered in the United States only with the G1000 avionics suite, but the G500 might be offered at a later time. There is no timetable for including the G500 as a U.S. option.
This new configuration includes alongside the Garmin G500 suite an EIS system based on the EDM930 unit. The primary Garmin Com/Nav/GPS unit is the GTN 650 touchscreen navigator while the secondary communications and navigation source is provided by a Garmin GNC 255.
The GTX 33 remote mode-S transponder is controlled via GTN 650 touchscreen display. ADF and DME are available as optional navaids.
