Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of the winter, you will show up to a cold hangar and an even colder airplane. Two companies are here to help by offering new updates on their innovative products.
Just in time for frigid temperatures, both SwitchBox and FST, LLC have released extensive updates to their respective remote electrical boxes that can make your winter flying a lot more comfortable.
The two companies have a slightly different take on what’s essentially the same product—an electrical box with multiple outlets that can be turned on or off independently and remotely.
FST, LLC’s Regal WDR has been replaced with the new Regal Pro. New features include the option of managed cell service to the unit, timed on and off operation, free user support, and power outage notifications. The Regal Pro sells for $379.
Updates to the SwitchBox include a higher power rating of 2000 Watts, enough for twin-engine and flight school applications, according to the manufacturer. The new version also includes LED plugs. New and current owners will also benefit from a free new iOS application that makes turning on and off the outlets fast and easy. It sells for $324.99.
