Sport pilot Michael Combs and the Flight for the Human Spirit returned to the Midwest last week—but not for long. This week, Combs expects to fly to Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, and Georgia in Hope One, his Remos GX light sport aircraft.
Last week, he and his son, Stephen, flew into Colorado Springs, Colo., which completed the last of the high-altitude airports on this side of the Continental Divide. They then headed east to Dodge City, Kan., and ended that day in Wichita. Combs launched the Flight for the Human Spirit, in which he plans to fly to or in all 50 states, from Salina, Kan., on April 8.
You can follow Michael Combs’s progress at AOPA Online or the Flight for the Human Spirit website for live Twitter and Facebook updates and videos. If you would like to meet Combs and Hope One at one of his destination airports, that site also includes regularly updated itineraries.
