To kick off one of the coolest weeks of the year, Women of Aviation Week, we are sharing our top 5 favorite female aviation influencers you should absolutely be following.
“Women Of Aviation Worldwide Week (WOAW) is a global aviation awareness week for girls of all ages observed to mark the anniversary of the world’s first female pilot license (March 8, 1910).” – Women Of Aviation Week. The purpose of the week is to get girls and women involved and show them the wonderful world of aviation!
To encourage you to get involved and excited for this seriously cool week we found our top 5 favorite female aviation influencers that we think you should follow. If you are in a rut, want to get inspired, or are looking to connect with female aviators, these awesome women have you covered.
- 1. Mindy Lindheim - @schmiiindy. Mindy went to Embry-Riddle and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics while also obtaining her Private Pilot Certificate. She has her Flight Instructor rating, Instrument Flight Instructor rating, and Commercial Multi-Engine Rating. She is based out of Atlanta and current sells new Beechcraft and Cessna Piston planes. Her favorite snack is anything Chick-Fil-A (so relatable) and has great travel inspiration on her page!
- 2. Kellee Edwards - @kelleesetgo. According to her sick and beautifully curated website, Kellee “is an award-winning travel expert, journalist and television host by land, air and sea.” She has her Private Pilot Certificate and is a winning TV Host for the Travel Channel. She has traveled to more places and embarked on more adventures than we can account. She truly is a passionate and vibrant individual!
- 3. Valerie - @skyline_baron_pilot. Valerie is an accomplished IFR pilot with a multi-engine rating and seaplane rating. She owns a Baron 58TC and is currently working to obtain her commercial multi-engine certification--she jokingly calls herself her husband's private pilot. Valerie has a rad Youtube channel called Skyline Baron Pilot where she shares her flight experiences.
- 4.Kim Kissh - @kimkissh. Kim Kissh, where do we start? By 23, Kim “earned second in command on a TBM-930, [was] promoted to Director of Safety, and most recently, [hit] 800 flight hours (including more than a few with her fluffy black lab Captain).” – NBAA. She was featured on NBAA’s Top 40 Under 40 for the Class of 2020 and is currently working as a Corporate Pilot. She recently moved to the magical Windy City, Chicago and enjoys a witty sense of humor.
- 5. Annie - @pilotannie. Annie describes herself as “Female Pilot sharing her passion for travel and aviation.” You will find exactly that exploring her Instagram. She truly adores aviation and is always looking to further her knowledge and achieve her goals. Speaking of that, she just recently hit 400 logged hours! She has a very, very cute and fuzzy dog named Koda.
