Junkers A50 Junior now made in US

The Junkers A50 Junior is now being handcrafted in the United States, bringing timeless design and modern performance together at the factory in Battle Creek, Michigan. This light-sport aircraft combines open-cockpit freedom with 21st-century safety and style. For pilots who crave connections to the aircraft, the sky, and aviation’s golden age, the A50 Junior delivers an unforgettable flying experience.

Step onto the tarmac beside a Junkers (pronounced “Yoonkers”) A50 Junior and you will feel the difference. This is not your average light sport aircraft.

With its corrugated duralumin skin, exposed rivets, and low-wing silhouette, the A50 Junior channels the golden age of flight. Beneath the vintage exterior lies a thoroughly modern machine. Handcrafted aviation is now assembled in the United States.

A newly completed 45,000-square-foot facility in Battle Creek, Michigan, is home to the U.S. production of the A50 Junior. Previously shipped from Germany as kits, the aircraft are now fabricated stateside by the team at Junkers Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of the DIMOR Group.

The shift marks more than a logistical milestone; it is a commitment to bringing world-class craftsmanship and faster access to pilots across North America.

Each A50 Junior is built from more than 1,000 unique components, over 10,000 hand-applied rivets, and 2,500 hours of skilled labor. A mahogany wing step and leather-wrapped surfaces give the aircraft the feel of luxury. Stylish, refined, and purpose-built, every aircraft comes standard with modern essentials, including a fuel-injected Rotax 912iS engine, a Garmin G3X Touch avionics suite, ADS-B In/Out, and a ballistic parachute for added peace of mind.

The real reason pilots are drawn to the A50 Junior can’t be measured in performance specs or cruise speed. It is the sensation of slipping into an open cockpit, taking the stick in hand, and flying with the elements rather than above them. Every vibration through the controls, every subtle shift in airflow across the fuselage, connects the pilot to the airplane in a way that is increasingly rare.

You will not find autopilot here. That’s the point.

Whether you’re an aircraft collector, an LSA enthusiast, or a longtime aviator with a hangar full of type ratings, the A50 Junior invites you back to the basics without sacrificing comfort, safety, or tech. It is a perfect blend of 1930s aesthetics paired with 21st-century capabilities.

The Junkers A50 Junior is built for pilots who want more than transportation; it’s for those who want to be part of history every time they take flight. Pilots are invited to tour the Battle Creek facility, witness the build process firsthand, and personalize their own A50 Junior right here on U.S. soil.
