AOPA is excited to bring pilots back together again with The Hangout, an AOPA Fly-in! The Hangouts are a two-day informal event where you can pitch a tent, participate in educational seminars, browse exhibits and displays, and swap stories around the campfire.

FAQs

This is an AOPA Fly-in however, it is different than our previous fly-ins. The “Hang Out” is a more casual event. Like the name states, we want you to fly-in and hangout with us. Expect outdoor exhibits, a robust static display, educational seminars focusing on STOL and back country flying, predominantly led by our Air Safety Institute. We will have daily, high-energy STOL demos, as well as other aerial entertainment local to the area. We encourage you to pitch a tent and camp in our large camping area, as well as visit our 39 Lounge which will be where the “hanging out will take place”. Grab a seat in the 39 Lounge for the STOL demos during the day and in the evenings a drink and grab something from a local food vendor, listen to live music or visit our fly-in theater and catch a movie. We encourage you to bring your family and make a weekend of this event.

Aside from some time with on-site Exhibitors on the ramp and in the Aircraft Display, you’ll have the chance to witness some high-energy STOL flying, as well as time to attend seminars focused on back country and STOL flying.

The Hangout is an AOPA fly-in and will be a ticketed event. Pre-registration is required for camping and requested for all attendees. Camping is included in the ticket price. Exclusive access to our exhibitors and their show specials, as well as meet and greets with AOPA staff and other aviation celebrities are all part of the event.

There will not be landing charges or fees when flying in.
