Annual Meeting of Members, May 12, 2026
Meeting Rules of Conduct

Welcome to the Annual Meeting of Members of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). To ensure a fair and orderly meeting, we ask and will require that all participants and persons present acknowledge and observe the following Rules of Conduct:

  1. The Chair of the Board of Trustees presides over and governs the conduct of the Annual Meeting. The chairperson has final authority to prescribe and enforce all rules of procedure, maintain order, rule on points of order, and take corrective action, including adjourning, recessing, or having disruptive participants removed.
  2. The Annual Meeting will follow the agenda. Only business properly noticed in the agenda and meeting materials may be transacted. Agenda items may not be added as unscheduled matters except as permitted by the Chair.
  3. The Annual Meeting is a member-only meeting as defined by our bylaws. Only verified members or authorized proxies may participate in the Annual Meeting. Attendance and speaking rights are limited to AOPA members or their duly authorized proxies.
  4. Attendees must register and verify identity before entering the Annual Meeting. All participants must check in at registration and present valid photo ID and proof of membership or proxy authorization.
  5. After registering and verifying identity and membership, members will have the opportunity to sign up to speak during the Annual Meeting’s Member Feedback session. Due to time limitations, up to a maximum of 20 members will be able to sign up to speak for up to two (2) minutes each, and the sign-up list is first come first served for the members who attend the Annual Meeting in person.
  6. Anyone who disrupts the meeting, uses derogatory language, makes personal attacks, or refuses to comply with the chair's rulings may be asked to leave the Annual Meeting.
  7. AOPA staff will record the meeting for the purpose of maintaining accurate and complete records of the proceedings. However, no other audio or video recording devices are allowed (including cameras, cell phones, or similar electronic equipment) to be used by anyone else during the meeting. Please silence all phones before the Annual Meeting begins.
  8. Official minutes will be recorded and retained. Minutes will serve as the legal record of the meeting and, once approved, will be made publicly available on AOPA’s website.
